One of my favorite places to eat!! Always welcoming, and everyone goes home to take a nap! The red sauce is chilled, not a cooked or dark sauce! I've been eating here for over 23 years! Never disappointed!! I usually go to the one in Dickinson although Alvin was my go to spot while Dickinson was rebuilding!
I always enjoy their food and the service has always been outstanding in the restaurant. We did get take out once and they forgot to include the tortillas, but I'll give them a pass on one goof!
When I am out in California...summers...I miss this place more than any other. They have the best...bar none...pinto beans of any Mexican restaurant I've ever visited. That is saying something as I was born in Corpus Christ, and have lived in Texas at least 50 years. They take the time to slow cook their beans with sausage and they are so thick and flavorful. Ask for beans el charro. Everything else is super good, also. I have had their tacos, guacamole, enchiladas...all great. And the prices are just what they should be...low. Not like Pappasitoes ridiculous gringo food & yankee prices. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable and Mexican. Highly recommend...located right on Gordon street, center of beautiful downtown Alvin.
